Coming up for air

The wonderful arc of a penguin’s chest heading for the surface. A classic image from a nature book inspired this portrait. Often the scale of my work is relative to the size of the animal. This piece is as diminutive as the penguin itself. I try to make my depiction of animals as individual as I can. made on salvaged wood in an artist’s frame.
