Ring tailed Lemur

2018
Oil on yy
6cm x 12cm

Part of an extended series of diptychs, which reference the portable miniature shrines Christian pilgrims used to carry. Although not always capable of being closed and carried in a pocket, they are part of my attempt to bring the idea of animals back into the centre ground of our thoughts.

Made entirely of found wood and metal, from Penzance docks and beach. The only new ingredient is oil paint. Minimal impact on the environment is a box in which I like to make work.
